Jamaica is a paradise, especially for lovers. So, whether it’s your wedding, honeymoon or a couple’s getaway, these hotels work hard to foster the romantic atmosphere you’re looking for. Moreover, most of these hotels are child-free, because nothing says romance quite like adults-only. However, you may be paying the price for luxury and privacy and the level of all-inclusive vary at different hotels.

1. The Caves Hotel in Negril

You haven’t stayed anywhere that’s quite like The Caves. A little more on the rustic side, they ride out that cave motif to the point where it’s almost surreal. Every room is unique and you’ll have your pick of a cottage, suite or villa with an ocean or garden view. Remember what I was saying about caves? During the day you’ll have a chance to snorkel through them, and at night arrange a private dinner or rendezvous at a bar housed in one of the caves. But if you rather stay out of the caves for most of your romantic getaway, you still have an award-winning spa, beach dining and a vibrant nightlife to experience beyond the caves. And one of the best features is their year-round specials so you won’t have to break the bank for a vacation.

2. Couples Resorts

You know the resort is good if they are willing to advertise their service in the name, which is exactly why Couples Resorts was an obvious choice. In total, there are 4 hotels – Tower Isle and Sans Souci in Ocho Rios and Swept Away and Couples Negril in Negril (even the hotels are in couples). Regardless of which one you choose, you’ll be guaranteed the intimate setting of a boutique hotel that fosters romance at every chance. For the couple that craves adventure, there are watersports, land sports and tours across Negril and Ocho Rios. For romance and relaxation, you can’t go wrong with a couples’ spa treatment or a romantic sunset cruise on a catamaran. This is complete with five-star restaurants and bars as well as inclusive spa treatments. Moreover, Couples strives to provide you with a picturesque wedding and honeymoon that shouldn’t be ignored.

3. Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton

Grand Palladium is one of those names that equates to top quality luxury and Lady Hamilton keeps up that good name, for those of us who equate romance with luxury. I can’t even list the all-inclusive they have but it might just be the most extensive all-inclusive on this list you’ll find. On top of this are 3 room categories that are meant to engulf guests in a natural environment and 10 restaurants with cuisine that takes you across different countries and taste palates. You will also have access to the Tryall Golf Course, 4 pools and private beach (inclusive of water and land sports) and spa. If you’re really looking for all-inclusive to have a good time, then Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton has you in mind.

4. Half Moon

At Half Moon, they capitalize on the concept of creating the perfect day. Though they aren’t an adult-only hotel, there is still so much for a couple to do to enjoy a child-free perfect day. To optimize romance and relaxation there is a mixture of spa treatments, private dining and use of their private beach. For more active couples, there are a variety of land and watersports to choose from and cocktail to end your day. Regardless of what kind of day you and your partner are feeling, you will still have your choice of 12 different types of rooms, suites or a villa and an assortment of all-day dining options. This is definitely one of the non-resorts on this list but nonetheless will deliver for your vacation.

5. Hedonism II

Definitely the most risqué hotel on this list (if you’re into that), Hedonism is very sexually liberal and inhibition – freeing, as seen with their clothing-optional policy. I will, of course let their website do most of the talking on that, but I will attest to their all-inclusive qualities. An oceanfront property, you can choose your room on the nude or prude side (based on your comfort level) with ocean or garden view but won’t be expected to compromise on lavish accommodation. You’ll have your choice of a buffet of local or international dishes or private dining, a beach grill and a midday cocktail or nightcap at one of 6 bars scattered across the hotel. And what stay at a hotel would be any fun without an option of water and land sports during the day and a party at night? You can be as adventurous or as conservative as you like, in an environment that’s more than freeing and gives you and your partner a chance to be open each other.

6. Hideaway at Royalton

Royalton is another name that begets luxury in Jamaica so I’ll be brief, because by now you know what to expect when you ask for a luxury vacation. As a guest, you will be treated to a world-class dining experience in Hideaway’s 8 restaurants, as well as their 9 bars (including poolside cocktail service). Couples relaxation and wellness is also promoted, from face and body treatments at the in-house spa to kickboxing, tennis and Zumba with gym trainers. The hotel can also organize day tours around Negril for some firsthand Jamaican cultural experiences. But you’ll always have one of the 5 deluxe room categories to return to after your fun day with your significant other, complete with a stocked minibar, rain showers and a terrace or balcony with a view of the white sandy beaches and navy Caribbean Sea.

7. Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall

You won’t run out of things to do while you’re staying at Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall. At Rose Hall, there are the White Witch and the Cinnamon Hill Golf Courses nearby for a riveting game of golf. Or you can decide to answer the call of the water, rent a kayak or a catamaran, try boogie boarding or explore Jamaica’s marine life through snorkeling and scuba diving. There are also dance classes, beachside yoga and Pilates to get your daily dose of fitness and the Zen Spa for a couple’s spa day both indoors and outdoors. You’ll even have an opportunity to explore Jamaica’s mountains, forests, waterfalls and rivers by foot, bike, boat, zipline or which every transport you see fit. But at the same time, you won’t be subjected to always having to do something. At Hyatt Zilara, you’ll still have 19 dining options for 24/7 service and 5 room categories for plush accommodations and the possibility of your backyard being a pool, you can still enjoy doing nothing in style and comfort.

8. Jamaica Inn

Jamaica Inn also has a long history of providing that vintage, intimate atmosphere any couple would crave on a vacation. With your choice of a suite, bungalow or villa, you really won’t have any choice but to enjoy your significant other’s company; there are no TVs, radios or clocks, just surround sound Caribbean Sea. The romantic ambiance also parlays into your dining experience, with options for in-room verandah, beach or open-air dining by candlelight and under the stars. And who can overlook a beachfront spa that offers full body treatments with crashing waves in the background. They capitalize on seclusion and it works for the couple that’s looking to unplug.

9. Secrets Wild Orchid/ Secrets St James

Where other resorts focus on promoting tranquility to foster romance, Secrets aims to cater to the more to the adventurous couple, where romance is the same as adrenaline. Following that theme, Secrets is an adventure park, with a private beach, 4 adjacent golf courses and a plethora of water and land sports (because where else can you go horseback riding and windsurfing in the same place?). But they still know how to set a mood, with sea and garden view rooms, 10 restaurants with international menus, 7 bars and 2 lounges. And one of the best parts is, as any romantic hotel should, they will help you to plan the perfect proposal, wedding and honeymoon.

10. Round Hill Hotel & Villas

With the promise of an escape to paradise for couples, Round Hill is one of those resorts that maximizes intimacy through seclusion. But seclusion doesn’t mean you’ll lack any of your luxury needs. Imagine staying in one of their villas or designer suites, gourmet Jamaican recipes and a view of botanical-like gardens and turquoise waters, wrapped in Jamaican hospitality. You and your significant other will even be able to enjoy yoga in an outdoor pavilion and the spa that uses the best of the Caribbean to replenish in a tranquil environment. Though not an adults-only resort, Round Hill does its best a providing a serene environment that couples can use to retreat and focus on each other.
