Frenchman’s Cove beach is a very unique beach located in the parish of Portland, Jamaica.

This place is often referred to as Paradise!

The grounds at the cove spread about 42 acres with villas throughout, however, the actual beach is relatively small.  This is not a problem because this beach is rarely crowded.

What makes this beach so unique is the amazing river that meets the ocean – such a sight to see!  The sand is soft and white and the water is crystal clear.  You can choose to swim in the very calm river or the ocean.

The ocean water can get wavy and rough at times so when you are done swimming, there are an abundance of chairs on the beach for rent.

From the beach you get a clear view of the villas on top of the surrounding cliffs.  The villas give a great view overlooking the ocean, beach and river.

Once you are done relaxing on the sandy beach, just a few steps away, you are able to rinse off in the pure river water.  Don’t be surprised if you are swimming amongst tiny fish.  Take this time to relax and enjoy being surrounded by the small and secluded jungle.  Kids and adults can enjoy the swing that hangs above the river.

Food and drinks are served here.  You have a selection of Jamaican jerk chicken, steam fish, burgers, fries, rice, etc.  Many agree that the price is reasonable, especially when served with a warm smile.
